GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay hey everyone, soi i just got back from the gym and im feeling FAN FREAKIN TASTIC.
few reasons:
1. all the endorphins jsut hit me at the same time
2. my friend vicky is making me this sick necklace with a piece of coral on it! im so fucking stoked. and shes doing it for free!
3.i just got invitied to the first afterprom via facebook
4. im talking with my brother about visiting him in 3 weeks at college with jaxson because jaxson's best friend is a freshman at the same school.

and thats where the topic of this post comes into play

GOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLS!
goals.
theyre awesome. heres why:
they keep you on track. and now youre prob going, well DUH ceej, but i mean really sticking to your goals keep you on track. like yeah prom is a long term goal, visiting my brother in less than a month should not only jump start me to this prom goal but it challenges me to excell in time to visit my brother. why? well ill tell you! college guys. need i say more?

like when i walk into my brothers house and meet his house mates i want them to think not "shes hot because of her looks" but, shes hot because of her confidence.
its almost common sense that a guy would rather go for a girl with confidence and intelligence than a physically attractive girl. confidence is hot.

so keep ya goals up. they do more for you than yah think

bagel all the way. foodie part I

Okay. so being from New York, especially the tri state area near the city, i have a love for something that no other human being that lives outside of this area could ever love. New York dough. and no, im talking cash money, im talking real dough. bagels. BAM. theyre incfredible here. my personal fave is an everything bagel topped wth cream cheese, lox, capers, lemon, red onion and sometimes a few slices of cucumbers.

and this is where it gets tough.
The Ugly Truth:
a good delious tangy new york bagel has the same bread intake of 4-6 slices of white bread. thats 80 grams of carbs. so whats my solution? well every sunday morning, i wake up, regardless of a wild night before, i wake up, go to the gym, work out with my father for 45 minutes and then we pick up bagels to bring home for breakfast. beause i dont wanna cancel out the progress i made that day, before i throw that fantastic freshmade everything bagel in the toaster, i cut it inhalf and pull out the insides of the bagel. why? because all the flavor is in the "skin". the middle is just unwanted bread.

plus the newly made trenches in the bread make great places for storing things like creamcheese, capers, lemon, lox red onion and sometimes cucumber. because think about it, how many times have you put something on a bagel, went to go taken a bite and the delcious morsel that was just on your skyscraper bagel is now either on the plate or table, in your lap, on the floor or even in your dogs stomach. the crevices are more than calorie reducers, theyre convenience enthusiasts.

not in a creamcheese, capers, lemon, lox red onion and sometimes cucumber mood?

try tunafish or lobster salad! and not that bumblebee crap. yeah its cheap, its just really unhealthy. its loaded with mercury and theres practically no omega 3 in it. plus when you squeeze out the juice to begin your culinary adventures with this sawdust,  youre squeezing out 30% of what you bought.






Now check out this pretty penny.
the amount of omega 3's are through the roof (1384 mg/ can!), when you use this product, you use the whole can (including the juice) and use little to no mayo (calorie savor!!!!!!) because its just that good without mayo. plus it rocks in a tunamelt on whole wheat bread with swiss cheese on the george foreman. The tuna is cvaught using on line/fisherman so its not those crazy big nets that the bigger companies use, all the boats are american (USA! ALL THE WAY!). all in all the product is much better. Yes, it is a little more expenisve but when you squeeze out the juice from the bumble bee can, youre wasting money. no money is wasted in Wild Planet. The quality and long term benefits of the tuna is well worth its price.

Kick the habit. relevance?

Sorry about the delay in writing. keep in mind, i am a highschool senior on the brink of summer freedom battling through midterms, job searching, the home stretch of cheerleading and college acceptances (george mason, URI, Umaine so if i go to any of the schools, be ready for FeshXV college blog<3)
But onto the topic!
SO! ive been sick. not like flu or dying or whatever, just a cold. which i blame on my best friend jaxson. weve been hanging out a lot lately and he has this terrible cough. which he gave to me. except in the form of a stuffy nose and sneezing. he got the cough, i got the sneeze. we make a perfect cold<3.
But besides hanging out with your disease ridden best friend, there are other ways to gert sick. namely habits.

HABITS.
dear god, do i hate habits. now dont deny it, we all have one. some of these include Eating disorders, saying "like", nail biting, nose picking (even though you swear you were scratching), etc.

Nail biting.
the amount of shit that goes on your hands during the day is terrible. im not even being sarcastic. studies have found legit shit on surfaces that humans touch every day. even in that awesome bowl of cookies next to the cash register at the diner. the germs on your hands and under your nails have been known to cause such illnesses as the common cold and range to meningitis, bronchiolitis, influenza, hepatitis A, and most types of infectious diarrhea.... ew......


so when you wash your hands (which you should do often) sing happy birthday twice. not even kidding.
if you bite your nails, there are products available at drugstores in the beauty section that can grow your nails, maike them stronger or are bitter so when you put your hands in your mouth, it will tastes bitter

Things that have worked for me:
1. confrontation. im not even kidding. i was once at practice and a team mate brought some cereal into practice that everyone was eating. i went to go put my hand in the bag to take some and the person who brought it in put their hand over mine to stop me and said straight to my face "im sorry but i saw you put your hands in your mouth before." I completely understood despite the humiliation of my whole team hearing that. and for that reason alone i knew okay i have to stop. im going into college and its time to grow up. people find it gross so its time.
2. so after this, i started painting my nails. i had a phobia for YEARS of getting a manicure at the nail places because the koreans always yell at me for biting. so because i still have such a phobia, i decided to paint my nail;s by myself. sure, they dont come out the same quality but i started doing it anyway. the colors looked nice for my short stubby nails and eventually not only did the look of them, but it was physically difficult for me to bite. so i didnt. but it was nice because when they were dry id go into the bathroom and playwith my hair for HOURS just watching my gorgeous nails run through my hair. it made me feel 10 times prettier and wierdly enough gave me enough confidence to get a guys number. not lying. after a while, when my hand became sterady enough, i stared making designs with those super skinny nail polishes (sold at rickys drugstore) like tiger stripes, paisley designs, flowers, snowflakes, etc. and they just looked so damn pretty, i couldnt resist but keep them the way they are.

Breaking away from habits is all about will power. if you have the willpower to stop poping your zits, biting your nails or even stop seeing a guy that is emotionally torturing you, and you have an issue with who you are physically, you have the willpower to change that. I believe in you, now you have to believe in you.

HEYYYOOO!!! Day 4 - snackdown crackdown

yo. sorry i havent written in like 5 days, ive had cheerleading practice for about 3 hours very day for the past week. its been some rough shit, man. but im looking foward to one thing and one thing only: MLK day. hell. yeah. i love having off but theres only one enemy when youre forced to hang out at home all day.
the fridge, the mean mr. fridge. oh boy
so here comes my next lesson: KNOW WHEN YOURE HUNGRY. im DEAD serious. because ive seen people completely crumble and waste all their progress with weight loss and confidence gain from the menacing fridge.
So youre not always hungry. most of the time, youre just bored. it happens to me all the time. and theres something in our brain that screams EATTTTTT.
Diet blog says it best: the reason we eat when were bored is because we grew up that way. plus concentrating on someting like food, temporarily solves the boredom.




How to stop yourself from doing that stupid eating thing when youre bored:
1)When youre really hungry, have something light, filled with protien, all natural or ven better, yet, chug a HUGE glass of water, or a warm seltzer. it fills you up INSTANTLY
2) wait like 20 minutes and then ask yourself if you really are that hungry. if you are, refer to tip 1
3) pick up a hobby, do a chore, play a game. just get food out of your mind

Guess what I did today?? Day 3?

If you guessed did something athletitic, youre right, if you guessed two athletic things, YOURE DOUBLE RIGHTT
thats right, not ONLY did i have a 3 hour cheerleading practice, BUT i went to the gym
hell. yeah.
I feel EMPOWERED! and strong! Like this kid!
Not even kidding, i left feeling SO good.  maybe it was the endorphins, or the fact that i was picturing me, 6 and a half months later, awesomely confident.
I dont care if you have the muscles of this kid or not, if you can walk out of anything feeling satisfied, youve done a good job. its really difficult to walk out of a gym feeling shitty. if this circumstance crosses your path, think of this kid and i SWEAR youll smile and think to yourself, "it wasnt THAT bad"

awesome.

Day II | Clean out, dont clean up!

Hey there Freshtodeaths!
So heres a fun fact about me: Ive tried everything short of the harmful ways to lose weight. keep in mind, i love my body, but i knew in order to be healthier, i had to do something. see thats the kicker: you cant lose weight and be happier and gain confidence without realizing a problem first, and better yet, accepting that if youre unhappy, you have to do something. It wont just go away.

so where was I? ah yes, i remember now,  So basically my most promising outlet of confidence gain was weight watchers. Ill bring up the big double W as we press on.

One super important thing i learned okay. so when i was involved in the big W, i used to go to this meeting every sunday (or was it saturday....) morning. and we'd discuss things like what weve been doing to help us out and like what i did to lose 6 pounds one week (heres the tip, go to a sweet 16 or any other catered party, eat before, eat like 3 bites there, have a bowl of ice cream for dessert and dance like youve never danced before.... the whole time. and to give your legs an extra workout, wear your heels the whole time and get low with that cute guy in the corner ;)), etc.
so one time we discussed something that hit me hard and stuck with me: Apparently, you are more likely to lose weight if your room is clean . Im going to be honest, my room is terrible. like a bomb hit it and no one has sent in help yet. BUT! its slowly getting cleaner. Now keep in mind, I have a cleaning lady. Ohhhhh rosie<3 what a doll you are a 5'1". So my room gets cleaned (vaccuumed and surfaces wiped down) every other monday. Heres the problem: rosie, as much as i love her, just stacks up the clutter to make space to clean. nothings getting cleaned out. so thats what you have to do. Dont clean up, clean out! sounds crazy, i know. For example: I started with the key ingredient , my closet. The epicenter of my daily life (you cant attend highschool naked)

There are sliding doors. yeah. shits intense. so heres what i did. i put on some awesome tunes (see the ipod above) and i pulled EVERYTHING out of my closet and threw it on my bed (TIP: make your bed before you do this. its SO much easier) so now everythings on my bed, i got some boxes and sorted everything

Things that should go in the closet:
nice clothing
nice jeans
nice shirts
tshirts that are in good condition
workout clothing
dresses
sweaters

I put anything else (old tshirts, tshirts that are too small, shorts, pants that are too small) in these boxes and put them in my attic, not to be opened until may. WHAT I DID THOUGH was i kept one of my smallest tight tshirts out. and i put it on a hanger and hung it on my door. and everytime i leave the room, i see that shirt that it drives me to want to do more for my body.


and nowwwww i move onto my next project, my dresser. keep you posted!

go mo! Day I

so you could be here for a billion different reasons.
1. you feel out of shape, unhealthy, depressed, and all around not motivated
2. you were curious as to what exactly what was the freshman 15
3. youre a compuslive link clicker and felt the need to click this link.


well either way, whether it be 1,2,3, or a combination of those, welcome to the freshman 15 or as I like to call it FreshXV. it sounds cooler :)


so here we are Day 1. so lets go. so you may look at yourself and be like gee, i deff want to lose some weight but how the fuck do i get motivated?
 for one, get off your ass as soon as youre done reading this post. go on do it. now go to your room, put on a pair of comfy shorts, a tshirt, a sports bra if you need it, put your hair up, get your sneakers on (dont lie to me, EVERYONE has a pair of sneakers, so that excuse is bullshit.)   and go for a fast jog. it doesnt have to be long. im not asking you to run like a marathon, go for a mile, go for a half mile, just go do something active!
Excuses I Don't want to Hear:
1. i dont have a treadmill! so what? go outside and run.
2. its cold outside! youre cold for literally the first 5 minutes and after than its fine. just cover your nose and mouth with a thin layer so you can breathe and still feel your nose
3. I sprained my ankle! hey me too! so you know what ive been doing in the mean time? abs. ho-ly shit. abs. do crunches, do girly pushups,
4. I hate running! do this. Now, i just watched this video and I must say it reminds me of being back at cheer camp learning the side line cheers. (FUN FACT ABOUT CHARLIE: Im a Varisty cheerleader... but im not in shape.)




you know what keeps me going when im about to give up? so basically i envision myself skinnier in shape and coming out of the water at the lake at my camp as if i were Halle Berry in the opening scene of Die Another Day. no joke. it like really boosts me. envision the guy you like, or just wanna get with (if any guy is reading this i mean you can obviously envision yourself. whatever floats your boat).

alright. now that youve been motivated. get off your ass now. this post is over. i better see your ass doing something active. dont wanna do anything of the above? well youre being lazy. if you can walk to the fridge to get a snack you can sure as hell go walk on the treamill for 1/2 a mile (for the record that takes 10 minutes.)
